  • RE: MPs demand ban on atheist bus ads

By way of (an as yet unrepresented) challenge to some poorly thought out responses to this: the strap line is banal at best and pretty insensitive / patronising at worst. God not existing gives no reason whatsoever to stop worrying or enjoy life less. Christians are also not worrying more or enjoying their lives less than anyone else - precisely ...

  • RE: Atheist bus campaign draws 57 complaints

I'm extremely happy to take up that challenge Ormiston - but this forum is unlikely to be the place. I also fear that comments such as 'evidence only looks like evidence depending on your ideological starting point' will be hailed as not answering the question - however, that's the kind of thing I'd point to. The beauty and magnificence of the ...

  • RE: Atheist bus campaign draws 57 complaints

Keep banging that drum all you like Ormiston - you are condemning a fairly vast segment of the population to profound ignorance of the "obvious" if you back the militance of Dawkins. I'm not talking about believing in God - although I maintain that philosophically, evidentially, morally, socially and from every other angle that's a ...

  • RE: Atheists launch nationwide 'no god' ad campaign on public transport

By way of an \(I hope) amicable response, I have checked out the evidence and I am still very much a Christian. I understand there are many who have not come to that conclusion having looked into it, but looking into it is surely a worthwhile thing to do. So an ad advising people that they don't need to worry about it is wrong. Everyone can make ...

  • RE: Atheists launch nationwide 'no god' ad campaign on public transport

The Bible says we ignore God at our peril. If this is the case, Jesus giving us a way to know Him is awesome news. It's up to us what we do with that information. This ad just pretends that information doesn't exist. People are at liberty to believe what the Bible says or not - whereas this ad prevents them even bothering to read it. Do people ...

  • RE: Atheists launch nationwide 'no god' ad campaign on public transport

Great point from Kevin. The admission of 'probably' attempts some humility, but the whole ad is really overreaching itself. The fact that chapters entitled 'Why there is almost certainly no God' exist in Dawkins' book prove he's a pretty weak authority when it comes to religion. Meanwhile, the Christian ad has been much maligned for encouraging ...

  • re: Facebook/BNP and blind advertising

Doesn't the potentially shocked consumer have to be searching for BNP sites and such like in order to make the offending comparison? Most of the debate seems to be around potential negative PR rather than actual damage to Facebook advertised brands...
