- Morrisons ad (no one dreams of a 'fresh Christmas' - shut it, Lulu. - That New York bagels ad where the girl puts a bagel in her schoolbag without any wrapping or anything in it - urgh - That Parker ad with the music 'Take me away, I'm going to hurt somebody...' um... with a fountain pen? Because those can be effective ...

There is actually a Facebook group called something like 'You know it's Christmas when the Coca Cola ad is on TV'... and if Facebook says it, it must be true.

No. Maybe in a year or so when it's been dramatically improved and comes free with a contract. But after a year with my Sony Ericsson K800i, I refuse to have a phone with a crappy camera. That little piece of wonder has totally replaced my digital camera and stamps all over Nokia in terms of not breaking every five minutes. Until the iPhone ...

It delivers the point well that online shopping is significantly less hassle than the high street over Christmas. BUT Amazon is cheaper, and that's where my Christmas pennies will be going this year.

The reason these ads don't work is partly down to the fact that they're trying to be funny and aren't, and partly down to the fact that their so-called celebrities are C-List at best. I believe Simon Amstell put it best on Buzzcocks when he said: 'Westlife. Still together, due to an unfortunate lack of murder.' Quite. I miss the ants.
