About Bob Ashwood
Steve Harrison says it helps to have done a few other jobs before you get into advertising. Like travel, it broadens the mind. In cronological order, I've been a hairdresser, a waiter, a canning factory worker, I helped dig the North Sea gas pipeline, an ASM in a West End show, a department manager in various shops, a croupier and a creative director. The shortest time spent on any of the above was as a waiter. I was fired after half a day - I accidently poured 18 fruit cocktails with cream down a woman's back. My most terrifying and most exciting job was as a dice dealer on the craps game at the Playboy Casino on Park Lane. My most rewarding job to date has been as creative director at Wunderman. I've raised several kids too.

Dave Trott and Rory Sutherland are always a good start. They go to the root of a human truth and asks good questions, without preaching and you're guaranteed a laugh. Unlike the Dali Lama who also doesn't preach ("I have two important things to do today, eat & sleep") but you get less laughs, but he has a compelling smile. For more laughter as part of an everyday balanced diet try Mark Thomas.
