About Ivan Pollard
Ivan began his career in Advertising at BMP in London in 1987. Before that he had been a Little Chef, a paperboy, a failed footballer, a community worker and a really bad radio DJ. At BMP, Ivan was a media planner and buyer and worked with some of the very best people in the business - and some real characters, too. The only job that could have taken him away from BMP came up in 1995 - to go and be the Media Director at Wieden & Kennedy in Amsterdam and work on Nike, Microsoft and Coca-Cola. Brilliant. In 1997, however, a good idea with two mates - Derek Morris & Andy Tilley - turned into London's first totally independent Communications Planning Agency, Unity. Ahead of its time and coining loads of today's lexicon of the industry, we had a great time working on Star Wars, Bulmer's, The Guardian and even re-engineering the media department at Fallon in the USA. After a brief spell at Ingram, Ivan became the fourth partner at Naked Communications where he still resides and works with brilliant people. Outside of work, Ivan likes to work. Inside of work, he likes to laugh at other people's jokes and try not to be as old as he is.
