About Sam Conniff

A product of south London, Sam entered full time work at 18 with a sudden promotion when his manager in the Croydon’s Whitgift centre, had a heart attack on the shop floor. A cocktail of career opportunities ensued including: becoming a trained chef, a barman, a waiter, a cosmetics buyer, a comedy club promoter, outdoor adventure wear retailer, band manager and nightclub promoter until Sam started his own promotions company, Don’t Panic, Don’t Panic blossomed from Sam’s bedroom into a global business and cult youth brand, until in 2001 Sam left to found Livity with Michelle Clothier, to create a ‘socially responsible’ marketing agency, that could bring benefit to clients AND to their youth audiences. Livity works with the worlds coolest brands, UK government, small and large charities, local community groups, and most importantly, young people themselves, co-creating campaigns. Sam’s Social Enterprise portfolio has grown to include LIVE magazine, a non profit publication produced by young people, Music4Good, The UK music industry’s apprenticeship scheme, Dubplate Drama, a unique TV show engaging young people in social debate and the Livity Trust making bursaries to disadvantaged young people seeking employment. Sam was appointed by the Cabinet Office as a UK Social Enterprise Ambassador, Sam is also a fellow of the RSA, one of Striding Outs ‘Future 100’ Young Social Entrepreneurs, a Make Your Mark Ambassador encouraging enterprise, a 2008 finalist for Ernst and Young’s Global Entrepreneur of the year award, in the top 100 of The Observer and Courvoisier’s 2008 Future 500, on the review board of Cranfield University’s Strategic Marketing MSC and a Community Governor at the Livity School for children with complex needs.
