About Rob Dyson
A graduate of the Birmingham Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies in 1999, Rob has spent over seven years in the third sector; the last five in public relations. During his time as PRO at disability charity Scope, he secured key spots on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, ghost-wrote comment pieces around the controversial US ‘Ashley X’ human rights debate, and held lectures for undergraduate journalism students on depicting disability in the media. He also managed the PR re-launch of Disability Now magazine via a full page interview with the new editor in The Independent, and DNs first and only appearance in Heat. In May 2007, Rob founded the ‘Third Sector PR and Communications network’ on social networking site Facebook. The group allows PROs, journalists, fundraisers and other media agencies to network, has been mentioned in PR Week, and was a partner of Charity Communication conference 08. Rob is a board member of industry body CharityComms and PR Manager at childrens mobility charity, Whizz-Kidz.
