Should Jonathan Ross apologise when he returns to the BBC this week?

TV and radio presenter Jonathan Ross will reportedly refuse to bow to public pressure for his part in the obscene phone calls scandal with an apology when he returns with his Friday night chat show this week.

The return marks the end of a three-month BBC suspension. Are Ross' previous apologies sufficient? Have you missed Ross during his three-month ban? Should he apologise on-air to viewers this Friday?

I'll probably still watch his show but I think less of him after the Sachsgate scandal. He should say a quick "sorry" to acknowledge the incident and then move on with the show.

I agree, if he chooses to apologise, which he shouldn't really have to, it should be quick and painless. Can we all just move on please?

I do think Jonathon Ross should apologise otherwise a three month rest period looks looks a bit silly.I will watch him but part of me thinks overpaid and just being offensive will not pass for talent I frankly think he should move to C4 and get a fresh start. The BBC are way out of line on the way they handled the entire situation Jonathon Ross costs how much?

As Richard says, and as the introduction to this post points out, he's already apologised. If he wants to apologise again, fair enough. If not, fair enough. Why are we even talking about this?  Why am I talking about this?

Can we close the circus and get back to reality? No, of course he shouldn’t. No one died. Blimey, what would they have done to the comics who appeared on Wheel-Tappers and Shunter's or The Comedians? You can bet the majority of the offended have very fond memories of the same. "That was real TV." Tut, tut. Such double standards. Everyone concerned is or has been doing very well as a result of or in spite of the whole debacle. The 'outraged' can now go back to their elasticized slacks, Velcro-fasten slippers and resume reading the Mail , Standard, Telegraph and Express.

After a 3 month gap, yes he should definately apologise.... for ruining most folks Fridays night entertainment.  I'm looking forward to seeing Mr Woss back in action and wish him well.

The intro would be quite interesting to see but how do you start a fun/comical show with a serious apology... ?

Any apology should be to or between him & the person he offended. As for us 'the general public' who gives f**k !!

All the bitching just goes to show - the spirit of the 'witch hunt; is alive and well.

Basically people hate that they have to bust their guts day in day out to earn enough money to cover the heating bills - and you've got dossers on TV earning a mint. - So when they f**k up, the boots are quick to come in, along with calls to 'burn them' !
