Interesting to note how unpopular he is, compared with Esther Hall's character. Makes you wonder if BT might actually be thinking of ditching his character and leaving Jane as a single mum. That would be a juicy dollop of hard-hitting "reality" for BT to sink its chops into for future campaigns.

What happened to the Nescafe couple in the end then?

Gareth Hunt made a WANKER GESTURE, shaking 3 types of coffee bean in his fist at the posh bird and she kneed him in the grollies

A poor imitation of the Bisto family with a modern day disfunctional twist

The kids will end up with ASBO's he'll "COME OUT" and admit to a sordid affair with his transgender boyfriend, she'll enter a 2 year court battle for unfair dismissal when the ladyboy in the menage a trois impregnates her rendering her useless to her employers...etc

Meanwhile.... elocution lessons in the Mumbai call centre will have very little impact leaving BT customers struggling to understand "Patrick" Ghandi and "Patrick" struggling to understand their regional dialect like 'appen seethee

Relating BT's services to family life might be the right strategy, but does it need to be executed using the same white, middle class home? It's not like the ads link up to produce a story any more (now the kids have accepted their new Dad). Maybe using different family groups for each story may make BT a bit more inclusive.

    'YOU'RE NOT MY DAD'.

I hope Adam had that shouted at him as the kids stamped up the stairs

They're too middle-class, middle-England, middle of the road.  BT are right to ditch them, they need to remedy their bulky traditional telco image with some new ideas

yes, a BT family in a caravan park would go down very well

absolute tosh - in that case AMV should resign the account and hand it to the BBC or the COI to do one of their minority box-ticking exercises on the campaign

Not sure but that dreadful oaf John Prescott claimed that 'we are all middle class now'. And if he's right then there perhaps there is something wrong with being one of its members.

     Personally I'm upper class
