    The Standard's new design...

It was interesting to read that the new editor would prefer both London free sheets to go away, because the new layout of his newspaper makes the Standard look just like one of them. It's terrible. The orange and turquoise look cheap and very 'local authority'. And is the use of the purple a nod (albeit a contrary one) towards its sister free sheet? The layout itself has no gravitas. All in all, it's a great big missed opportunity.

Totally agree!  And what of the content, where has City Spy gone - the business section, previously a brand defining shining light, has lost all of it's gravitas...

Used to be very happy to pay 50p a day just for the business section.. not any more

Oh no, I found City Spy yesterday, just doesn't look like it or 'feel' like it...

    Still not impressed though
