I did not think that it was a masterpiece of film production, however I found it quite nice and relaxing to watch. I suppose that all the nice brith colours made it so enjoyable :)

As much as I want to believe the hype. Battlestar Galactica is actually pretty rubbish. So many plot holes and implausible outcomes - someone should install some CCTV cameras on that ship, and in one fell swoop resolve pretty much every "drama" lazily concocted by the writers.

Doctor Who, whilst not as terrible as the embarrasingly bad Torchwood, is still not that good.

Something about the Sci-Fi genre clearly makes scriptwriters think that they can pass off any old narrative guff with nary a bat of the eyelid on the part of the audience. Both BSG and Who have a good tone, but the details of the execution leave a lot to be desired.

I think with catherine tate she has type cast herself as a comedian rather than actress, you keep expecting someone to drop something and her screeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam or say "am i bovvered" i still like her though

Catherine Tate is only just starting to annoy you??? How is this possible she is the embodiment of talent free space wasting TV "personality". I say personality as i have yet to see her act. Rubbish.

Right show, wrong night.

Just felt like it should have been 10pm on a Thursday. Accepted you have to take risks to move forward but just can't see it working on a Saturday night. No facts or figures to support my point, just a feeling!

BTW - Agree with the Tim Burton comment. I say Tim Burton meets Willy Wonka...was waiting for the oompa loompa's...

Didn't see Pushing Daisies, did watch Doctor Who. Great episode, very funny in places although Catherine Tate is starting to annoy me, why does she YELL so much, geeze give it a rest love.

This is all very good, but it is worth remembering the best US TV show in a while is returning to British screens tomorrow night. Yes, of course, I am talking about Battlestar Galactica on Sky One - a show that should enjoy a much larger audience. If you leave the house set your Sky +. Just one meager season left so buckle up.

BTW Charlie Brooker in the Guardian on Saturday was very good on it.

Living in the US, I have seen the show all the way up to the writers strike, and can say that it is definitely one of the best original, entertaining and engaging US TVs shows around at the moment.

So good, in fact, that I will actually appointment view, rather than DVR it, as I do with pretty much everything else.

Stick with it. ("John Adams" currently running on HBO is also exceptionally good.)

Yes I watched it and loved it, I usually hate the usual ITV series I find them boring but this one was good, a little like desperate housewives, so lets hope they dont become boring like other UK series like Lost which I am sure is lost by all as no one really follows it

Too mawkish (I can see why the Americans like it) and self-conciously quirky with a capital 'Q'. Agree with other comments about Anna Friel, who is the best thing in the programme. I'm a maybe as to whether I will watch Pushing Daisies again.

I missed it too but sounds like it's worth a watch. I did however switch on Britain's Got Talent not expecting much but was very entertained by a dog dancing to the James Bond theme.

Missed it, but will definitely try to catch it this week on ITV2, the clips look really good and although some of the reviews have said it is too quirky I think we need more quirky on British TV. It's a good move by ITV1 to air this kind of show as well and 5m plus is I think a respectable audience despite talk of a flop. And we like Anna Friel.

I really liked Pushing Daisies. It was like a cross between Amelie and a Tim Burton film - quirky, unsettling, whimsical and Anna Friel was great to watch. I'll be watching the next episode for sure.

ITV1's new US drama Pushing Daises, starring Anna Friel, launched with 5.7m viewers on Saturday.

It didn't exactly light up the ratings (it was beaten by BBC One's long-running medical drama Casualty) but it was a good start and it performed well among the coveted 16-34 year-old audience.

This quirky offbeat drama and its ilk would be often seen on Channel 4 and as such marked a departure for ITV in a primetime slot.

Did you tune in? Will you return this Saturday for the second instalment? Let us know what you think?
