The only constrain for Obama might be the colour of his skin as there are many horrible people in the world who judge people by their race and might not accept this.

Definitely. In comparison to Bush, anything is an improvement for the US image. Bush got the country to a position where the nation was hated by many people accross the world. Hopefully, Obama will be able to turn ths around.

Yes! Have you ever listened to George Bush? In so many respects this was a one horse race from the start. It's the sane guy versus the rest. Would Obama have had a long conversation with a Canadian Comedian on the subject of gunning down wildlife from a helicopter? I rest my case.

There's certainly a history of a new presidency raising optimism, regardless of the candidate. On top of that, having a new candidate that has stellar speaking skills, and represents a historic selection, seems to seal the deal.

I think the real question is how long will the boost last ? Can Obama deliver on the promise his charisma implies ?

I am sure he will. Having someone educated up there after so long will definitely improve the image! He also seems very sensible and determined to improve the US situation.

In the short term, without a shadow of a doubt, but only time will tell as to whether his presence in office and his actions throughout his tenure will contribute to the States global image.

As George W. Bush leaves office, America's standing in the world has plummeted at a rate only matched by the decline of the basis for its status - its stellar economy. Will the election of the first black president restore the country's world standing?

When Obama toured Europe earlier this year, people waited in mile-long queues to see him - will Obama's victory mark a break with the past in the US' brand image or will eight years of Bush continue to haunt the new president? What does Obama need to do in order to boost the country's image?
