    Using News Feeds vs Banners

    Hi -

I'm trying to figure out the best way to push specific offers online.  Does anyone have any experience with use of news feeds versus banners?

The argument is that messages based in a news feed is much more likely to be read and clicked on. Banners are too common and tend to be visually screened out by site visitors.

The counter argument is that banners are far more prominent / eye catching, so they are actually better at driving click through.

It partly depends on the number on a page. Banners, buttons and skyscrapers plastered all over the page destroy each other's chances of getting any attention, but just one banner can be effective

If you need to get several links on the page then a news feed stands more chance of being read as each new item adds to the weight of the whole
