Marketing ideas required for a chicken and egg situation! No money for marketing but we need users

We have little money left to spend on the marketing of www.ballz.com a new sports social networking site.  We need to find ways to tell the world without spending very much money! …. before we can PR it to the likes of tech crunch and mashable etc ..

We’ve done most of the onsite SEO work we can and we are looking for some killer ideas to attract users to the site on a shoe string budget.

    Can anyone help?

It’s a fantastically capable website to connect people of all sporting ability or disability. Users can personalise their own selection of sports (over 200 popular and niche sports available), meet friends, manage teams and leagz, listen to news and read about their favourite sports, blog and comment on sports they’re interested in, get mobile alerts and updates, find local sports facilities and services and shop for products for over 200 sports.

    Thank you!

Here's a whole bunch Sarah, feel free to get in contact - my details are at the bottom.

Use the social networks, rss feed directories, free and paid for online PR, social bookmarking and video sites. Create accounts and then use aggragator syndicator feed sites to upload to many at one go, which saves time going forward.

Whole bunch of links here for you.

    http://www.mediastarz.co.uk/group/starz20 - RSS feed directories

http://www.mediastarz.co.uk/group/prstarz - Online PR and Social Bookmarking + Video syndicator feeds

For Viral distribution check these http://www.mediastarz.co.uk/group/viralstarz

Setting up Facebook groups, a Twitter micro-blog feed, Stumbleupon, Digg, Delicious etc and adding daily content, then inviting others sees audience grow and links to your site. Raising awareness with some video and making usre you add your http://www address in the first line of the summary on your YouTube etc posts will give you clickable links to your site.

Online PR is excellent for growing links, and if it's really interesting, then of course it will be picked up by other online publications and bloggers and be well worth it. PRweb's introductory offer for new accounts at $200 level gets you a discount of $60 to just $140 - it's a paid for, but well worth the money.

Of course whatever you do add an element of viral to it, so why not add a competition.

You can also, think about joining banner swap or popunder swap networks which are low cost and boost awareness and traffic.

Any help on top of this just say hi at http://www.MediaStarz.co.uk

Oh, and the last thing, if you haven't already get a Google Analytics free account and add it to the site so that you can see what's working, where visitors are coming from and going, plus you can track any online media work by setting up GA Tags and Goals.
