I'll assume that this is a genuine question rather than an attempt to plug Cleave. In my opinion, outsourcing does not automatically help a company to grow but, if properly managed, it can allow a company to concentrate in its core competencies and to manage its overhead more efficiently. However, it will only work where both parties work together to understand exactly what is expected from one another and have detailed processes to deal with all eventualities. Contingency planning is key (what happens if relations with your outsourced company break down?). Outsourcing is not a quick fix - it needs an in-depth procurement process to work, and probably some detailed process planning as well. Having said all that, the efficiency savings can be very worthwhile in the right instance.
