    Enfatico?! Mixed reactions?

    .

BR Poll - What do you think of the name WPP has given its new agency to handle the Dell account?

    • Hit - I'm enfatuated and have already begun the process of moving my ad account to Enfatico (41.7%)
    • Miss - Enflatulence more like. Sounds like a here today, gone tomorrow 90s branding agency. (58.3%)

Enfatuous. The name is nonsense from the worst of the 90s branding agency's excesses. However, I don't think it will hamper the agency, however. After all, you've got that all-important first client...

    Re: Enfatico?!

I agree with Richard's comment. It sounds a bit pretentious to me. Dell always strikes me as a no-nonsense sort of client and the new name sounds a bit wanky to me. It also sounds a Latino so with South American creatives being all the rage at the moment perhaps it's an attempt to associate the agency with instant creative credibility and hipness.

    Re: Enfatico?!

If it's primarily a name that used in-house, or by the (single, major) client, and isn't about marketing a new agency, I think it doesn't matter what it's called. And, of course, it's getting harder to find good names as urls get used up ...

Andehlu - what has the reaction been like inside the agency and what's the thinking behind the name?

    Re: Enfatico?!

I guess the most important thing is that Dell is happy and presumably they vetoed the name once it was suggested? Can you share any of the other suggested names?

The meaning is good, but the word itself as an agency name sounds pretty pretentious.

Sounds okay to me! I'd like to know what the other possibilities were though...

I did a double take at the story on the BR home page and we're all talking about it. Copywriter's objective achieved, no?

I just can't believe that the agency feels it has to explain the word's pronunciation! How condescending is that? We're not Americans you know, some of us actually can say foreign words without using an English accent......

    Really Carol ?

Well a little off topic maybe, but in line with your comments on Americans, I don't really rate the English as the most intelligent and cultured species on the planet !!

    - Back on topic, maybe this name 'Enfatico' is growing on me a little bit.

This debate is only a little promotion exercise right ?

    - I mean, your not going to change the name now ?
