any ideas?

This is a sweet idea for when you're stuck for them. At first we thought it might be a stunt for an agency, but they really do email you ideas. Actual thoughts which appear to have been crafted by humans. No idea who is generating these faceless nuggets but it's fun. Does anyone know who is churning them out? how big is the team? is it one guy bored in his data-entry job? Is it 50 people in a shed? Or is it students, compiling data on how lazy creatives are getting these days?

In order to shed some light on this we gave it a try. In our post lunch lull we tried it on a TV brief and it was a bit random with what it came up with... a little too specific somewhow. see if you have more luck.

what's nice is the disclaimer - 'there's no copyright on this site whatsoever - it's just another idea.'

From BA to Ba baa

Just saw this and couldn't help finding it vaguely reminiscent of the BA Face ad:

It's much funnier though. This sheep thing isn't real though is it? Pretty clever sheepdog if it was.

It also made us think of Hussein Chalayan's fashion design using LEDs, currently on show at the Design Museum and well worth a look.

Signs that massively overclaim: episode one

I (Lol) saw this ages ago and my friend mark and I couldn’t stop laughing. I kept imagining tiny, minute matresses for borrowers people - and gargantuan ones befitting the Grand Canyon. I know it's infantile at best but it got me starting this collection. I just love shop signs that are needlessly, shamelessly hyperbolic. It's another one of my occupational hazards as a copywriter - a mild obsession with lexical ambiguity.

The other day I saw a take-away pizza shop in highbury that said ‘Britain’s Smartest Pizza’.
What an odd claim to make. Do you care about the IQ of your four-seasons?
Saying that, I went back to take a picture for it for my collection and the shop seemed to have vanished, which says a lot. Either I dreamed it, or those genius pepperoni people are out of business already.

Why do businesses feel the need to dress their windows in such bizarre exaggerations? Don't the ASA have to assess them first? And if anyone has any other gems, feel free to share.

If photoshop were real...

A designer friend from bbh sent us this. I (Nat) wanted to share it in case no one had seen it.

I think it is so charming. If only photoshop actually looked like this.  I love the old fashioned little paint squares, the knife and the tape measures.

On another note, I've always thought about doing a short film where someone can control the world with photoshop. Just think, it could be really helpful - You could copy and paste great people, edit undo terrible situations around the world, resize the ozone layer or even retouch your way to end the obesity crisis. (It would put plastic surgeons out of business!)

If we were allowed only one real photoshop action I wonder what the most popular would be? Any suggestions?

Advertising Relief

Comic Relief 'brand relief' by Fallon London

I saw this yesterday - it made me laugh so much. It's great seeing the advertising world do something so funny for comic relief. I love the way Bertie Bassett misses his mouth when he tries to eat, and who knew the sugar monster had such an angelic voice...

It reminds me, I must go online and donate. Here's the link....

Rising stars

Sorry for the long silence, we've been auditioning and shooting hundreds of slices of bread, in a quest to find the true up and coming toast of the nation for our warburtons campaign. After a gruelling X-factor style shoot out, we whittled it down to a final selection. The ads won't be appearing for a while, but Tessa Traeger being the genius photographer and model-maker wizard she is, we're ecstatically happy with the results.
