Now I have a new Asus product to rave about: the Asus S101- the Macbook Air that you can actually afford. It retails at $699 for the 16GB Windows version or 30GB for the Linux version

The great Lenovo Notebook promotion

On Monday I noticed a Tweet about a Lenovo (the old IBM PC business) promotion that was offering up to

Andy, why is it irresponsible? The technology is done when it is done and i fully intend to recycle my unwanted tech as i have done with old phones.

I bet you both (Gordon and Belinda) think of yourselves as vaguely 'green' or 'environmentally responsible' in other areas of your life. Recycle paper? Bottles? Maybe even cycle to work? Why bother? You are advocating a totally irresponsible attitude to the use of resources not to mention the energy / carbon used to manufacture these products and their effect when you ditch them. Its bad enough that we have a culture where a mobile phone is thought to have a one year lifespan without adding laptops.

I three lap tops laying around only one of which is used, but the life span has been steadily falling for each. I'm going to buy myself a ASUS Eee PC 901. I've waited long enough.
