And that's a good thing because traditionally it has been the easiest and laziest thing for people to write about and guarantee a few cheap hits.

But while researching a piece for next week's mag about how the series is doing I've realised that no-one is watching it or cares about what's going on in the Big Brother house. In fact even Channel 4 seems a little bit embarrassed to talk about it as its already tiny audience is down 1m on last year.

This counts as progress and something that we should all find encouraging and augurs well for a Roddick victory and the Lions taking out a few dirty South African cheats tomorrow. Have a good weekend.

Normally it's on the front of all the tabloids, but you're right. Glad nobody's watching. Hope they exit the house and find nobody there to cheer them. As for SA rugby - they are just appalling and a disgrace to the game.

Someone - it may well have been you Ed - once said that to make it more interesting they should just turn the cameras off and then secretly film their response when they exit to find the place deserted. That would subvert it.

Also, I agree with Burger saying that he isn't a 'rugby thug' - I can think of a far worse epithet to describe him after his behaviour last Saturday.
