How to lose readers and alienate people

Vanity Fair has shrunk Kate Winslet. She looks like an animatronic doll/actress.

The star posed for the "explicit" photoshoot in stockings and stilettos, but it doesn't look in the slightest like her. She's promoting her new film 'Revolutionary Road' (based on the Richard Yates book). It sort of reminds me of Daryl Hannah as Pris in 'Blade Runner'.

The picture appears to have been wholesale butchered. You have to ask what's the point? I mean she has no lines, wrinkles, bags or smile lines and hardly any detail on her face at all.

They appeared to have made her a size eight, pinching her waist. Vanity Fair said she "hardly needed any retouching". Judge for yourself.

how awful.  she was one of the curvy actresses.  she looks like a pimped up barbie doll.  what happened to real women and real  beauty?

Pinching her waist? They look like they stuck her on a water-only diet and then squeezed her in a vice. She looks like Keira Knightley in a blonde wig.

Poor Kate - she probably (and hopefully) still is one of the curvy actresses, but it just seems like the magazines she poses for don't enjoy her curves as much as her fans, and the general public, do...remember when GQ skimmed down her legs? Repeat behaviour from fashion press is that the Real People, Real Beauty campaign can just f*** off - 'cause if you're not thin, you're not in - well, in their books, I guess. How awful - I just hope she makes as much noise about this retouching as she did about GQ...

You can imagine the conversations that go on inside these glossy magazine as the fashion department gets together. Nightmare.

Someone has already mentioned it, but I do recall the last time she was 'adjusted' to look like a giraffe... and was jolly upset. 'Cos 'she's just an ordinary girl like you and me'. A bit more forgetful perhaps...

Apparently she is 'outraged' at the suggestion that this image has been doctored - according to a report on MSN, her spokesperson has stated that this is how she looks - apparently she's in great shape and the only retouching was skin tone work.
