PS3 v Wii (via Apple)

Fantastic. I want to go out and get a Nintendo Wii after watching this.

I'm going to recant my years of devotion to the Sony Playstation although I think it might be for all the wrong reasons. Blondes are the wrong reasons right? I'm kidding. Who has the time? I haven't lifted a controller in about four months.

These jokers have the brand body image just right. The PS3 is a heavy weight and not all in a good way. Personally, I have no intention of paying £425 for a PS3 so Sony can sell me stuff I don’t want (Blu Ray). I have no intention of buying a Wii either. I don't want to be standing their waving my arms around like a loon, but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Interestingly, it seems that despite the high price PS3s are flying off of the shelves. I have to say I'm surprised. Has anyone splashed out on one?

Virgin Gave away High Def TV's to the first hundred who camped for the PS3, good deal for them. But the rest of the console world probably will not feel any benefit.

I have had a Wii for a few months now...at £179 new it is incredible and has brought many fun filled hours to the table! Who cares about hardcore graphics when gameplay is this good. PS3? I think not...

It's interesting - because, to date, the success of games consoles has been linked to the games developers produce. Hence Microsoft's drive to get more and more exclusive games for the Xbox 360. It seems that the PS3 is a step beyond this idea, as the add-ons, technology and extra features are the real selling point, not the games. Question is: will anyone buy this approach?

My kids have a Wii. We've been a Nintendo family for years although my eldest strayed to the dark side a while back and bought an XBox 360. He mocked the very concept of the Wii when it was first mooted but I can truly say that it is the only console that the whole family has enjoyed. As for the ad - pure genius. Great performance from the Wii girl and all in a format you just can't resist sharing.

The PS3 had an incredible launch. In three weeks - if you believe the numbers - it has sold its initial entire stock. And yet there are still thousands available and no one's actually buying them. Take a look at www.ukresistance.co.uk for some interesting information. I bought a Wii just before Xmas and have no intention of getting a PS3. Well, not until it's half the price at least.
