It's Friday night and Basildon awaits. Anyone having a barbeque?

The Barbeque in Hell

Wet Friday night and drunk before seven

If I'd just got to Pitsea I'd still be standing at eleven

Why is it I always think I'm headin' for heaven?

But it's just another barbeque in hell

Motorway below me always the fucking same

Car lights like maggots wriggling down a vein

I tell myself for comfort that it is a universal pain

The raindrops flash like meteors through halos of streetlight

I keep my head down stagger slight I cannot take a fight

The girls in the pink stretched Limo scream into the empty night
