Are blogs cooling off?   

 

Interesting piece at web2watch.blogspot.com about  whether or not blogs are on the wane (see link below). The author argues that long ponderous blog posts are out and quality is in. Given all the quick ways through social media to text messages, blogs have to be interesting to gain readers.

Hi Justin, many thanks for the link! I should point out, though, that I was actually arguing the complete opposite. *Short* blog posts are probably on their way out, as people increasingly turn to micro-blogging services like Twitter, Jaiku and Facebook to post short, quick-fire statements and links. But people who want to write longer pieces (myself included) will stick with blogging, because it's a better medium for that kind of writing. Cheers, Fiona
