I've added Flixster. Re the apps falling over, yes, some of them are being coded by 14-year-olds, but it'll all sort itself out in a while. It's the additional functionality that's key.

re: Facebook Platform

The only problem with these "applications" is they don't work reliably. This site is amazing but scarily addivtive. Noone can explain why though! Its just so impulsive to check every 30 minutes on your profile! And now they have all of the applications, music, video, slideshows, editing, youtube. My Space is dormant now, i think its the minifeed and main page that gives the edge over myspace. the fact that it keeps you informed of friends made and comments made with you and your friends is brilliant. How is this going to end though?! Will I still be logging on when in 84 wearing a nappy in my retirement home? probably!

re: Facebook Platform

Hehe, I'm obsessed with Facebook too. It's a smart site. The platform idea isn't new though. We had the idea for bolt on services when we first planned the Mansized site a couple of years ago. API anyone?

I'd say it's Facebook 1 0 MySpace right now. FB will succeed because the technology's way better and the audience feels more widget savvy.

One problem with Facebook - the fact that it relies on people to generate the content means it falls flat when they don't. I've seen quite a few tumbleweed groups and these need to be given a shove or cleared out.
